BALD AND GOLDEN EAGLE PROTECTION ACT COMPLIANCE STRATEGYThe NFE shall provide updates to the 2012 Study of Golden Eagle Activity on Air Force Bases in the Western United States (USACE Project, 2012) through data consolidation from Air Force installations that currently have Golden Eagles, including Air

Force Ranges.

Specifically, the NFE shall provide assistance in consolidating, summarizing, historical data on Golden Eagle monitoring in order to develop a strategy on how the determine best management practices and/or strategies for Air Force installations to comply with Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.

The NFE will also identify data gaps in installation Golden Eagle data and determine/identify the best possible method for filling these data gaps with eagle monitoring methods, such as, but not limited to GPS trackers, cellphone backpacks, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), visual, game cameras, remains found, and nest surveys or other innovative eagle monitoring methodology.

The information from this effort will be used to develop strategy to assist installations with compliance with BGEPA and BGEPA incidental take permits requirements.
