Campus Outdoor Ambassador Program

The Campus Outdoor Ambassador Program is a partnership involving the NPS Youth Programs Office, the NPS Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance program, and the Outdoor Foundation, building a college-based effort to increase the active connections between young adults and the national parks.

It materially contributes to public purposes and the stated agency priorities of building the relevance of national parks among younger generations, providing healthy recreation experiences, connecting parks with communities, and providing employment opportunities.

This campus-park partnership will identify and invest in student leaders who will spearhead increasing outdoor recreation participation and national park awareness among young adults.

The partnership will offer NPS career exposure as well as temporary student employment opportunities while cultivating next-generation park enthusiasts and champions across the country.
