Louisiana Announcement for NRCS' 2018 Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG)

The purpose of CIG is to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies in conjunction with agricultural production.

CIG projects are expected to lead to the transfer of conservation technologies, management systems, and innovative approaches (such

as market-based systems) to agricultural producers, into NRCS technical manuals and guides, or to the private sector.

CIG generally funds pilot projects, field demonstrations, and on-farm conservation research.

On-farm conservation research is defined as an investigation conducted to answer a specific applied conservation question using a statistically valid design while employing farm-scale equipment on farms, ranches or private forest lands.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Applicants must be able to: (1) demonstrate an established capacity to provide the technical services and expertise to support the proposed program; (2) have a proven track record in working on women’s empowerment and/or entrepreneurship; and (3) partner with a local organization for the proposed program, if they are not one themselves, in the spirit of USAID’s Implementation and Procurement Reform.

Additionally, Applicants from any U. S. non-governmental or non-U. S. non-governmental organization that meet the above eligibility requirements may apply.
