The Federation of Appalachian Housing Enterprise, Inc. (FAHE) is a certified CDFI that was established in 1980 and provides financial and development assistance to members providing affordable housing to low-income families and individuals in rural Appalachia, specifically in the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

FA (2009) - $2,000,000

The Federation of Appalachian Housing Enterprises (FAHE) is a certified CDFI established in 1982 that provides mortgage loans, commercial loans, an equity fund, loan servicing, consulting, and development services to 45 member organizations and other entities that provide affordable housing in Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Its primary Target Market is the Appalachian counties of these four states. FAHE will use its FY09 Financial Assistance award to create a new affordable housing development loan product and its FY09 Technical Assistance grant to 1) implement evaluation impact software; 2) attend related trainings; and 3) cover annual subscription costs.



FA (2006) - $585,000

The Federation of Appalachian Housing Enterprises, Inc. (FAHE) is a certified CDFI established in 1981. FAHE serves the Appalachian areas of Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, providing advocacy, resources, and facilitation to a network of housing organizations. FAHE also provides an array of financial services including conventional mortgage products offered directly to consumers, and specialty mortgage products offered through its network. The 2006 Financial Assistance Award of $485,000 will enable FAHE to increase the lending volume of its current products, such as its conventional and subordinate mortgages. FAHE will use the 2006 Technical Assistance Award of $100,000 to conduct a market assessment and pay for expenses relating to a new field office in Tennessee.



TA (2004) - $50,000

The Federation of Appalachian Housing Enterprise, Inc. (FAHE) will use the award to obtain consulting services, and computer hardware to integrate existing software to expand FAHE"s internal capacity to manage an increased loan volume.



CORE (2000) - $1,100,000

The CDFI Fund"s $1,100,000 capital grant will help FAHE carry out its business plan that calls for expanding its lending activity and services to its members.
