Enhancing Labor Compliance in Key Export Sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa

The Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), U. S. Department of Labor (USDOL, or the Department), announces the availability of approximately $11,711,500 total costs (subject to the availability of federal funds) to fund one technical assistance project in the Republic of Kenya, the Democratic

Republic of the Congo (DRC), and one other African trade partner country to enhance labor compliance in key export sectors in sub-Saharan Africa.

The project objective is to improve compliance with relevant international labor standards and acceptable conditions of work (ACW), with an emphasis on promoting occupational safety and health (OSH) in one or more export-oriented economic sectors, such as the mining and quarrying sector.
