Purpose.

The Fogarty International Center (FIC), together with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA), and the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), encourages renewal and new applications in the

Phase II International Implementation, Clinical, Operations and Health Services Research Training Award for AIDS and TB (IICOHRTA AIDS/TB) program.

Applications must propose, in an integrated manner, a collaborative research training program that will strengthen the capacity of institutions in low-and middle-income countries (LMIC), defined by the World Bank classification system, to conduct HIV and/or tuberculosis implementation research.

Mechanism of Support.

This FOA will utilize the U2R cooperative agreement award mechanism.

Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards.

Because the nature and scope of the proposed research education program will vary from application to application, it is anticipated that the size and duration of each award will also vary.

The total amount awarded and the number of awards will depend upon the number, quality and costs of the applications received.
