State Grant Used to Stop Underage Drinking

Houma Police Department received a $187,220 worth of state grant by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission’s Juvenile Underage Drinking Enforcement program.


The grant will be used to post more police officers on the street to enforce local curfew and to eventually stop underage drinking and smoking. Recently, the Houma PD have set up undercover operations to catch stores that sell tobacco and alcohol to minors.
