OVC FY 16 Project Beacon Training and Technical Assistance
The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) will provide funding to one eligible applicant to provide training and technical assistance to award recipients under OVCâÃÂÃÂs FY 2016 Project Beacon:
Increasing Services to American Indian and Alaska Native Victims of Sex Trafficking (Project
Beacon) solicitation.
The recipient of this award will provide ongoing education, training, support, and guidance to Project Beacon grantees in order to increase their capacity to provide direct services to American Indian and Alaska Native victims of sex trafficking in urban areas.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Eligible applicants are limited to states, federally recognized Indian tribal governments, as determined by the Secretary of the Interior, units of local government, nonprofit and for-profit organizations (including tribal nonprofit and for-profit organizations), national organizations, and institutions of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher education).
A unit of local government is any city, county, township, town, borough, parish, village, or other general-purpose political subdivision of a state, territory, or federally recognized tribal government.
For-profit organizations must agree to waive any profit or fees for services.
Eligible applicants must demonstrate experience in providing national- and local-level training and technical assistance to organizations and agencies that provide direct services to urban AI/AN communities, and on topics and issues specific to AI/AN victims of sex trafficking.
OVC welcomes applications that involve two or more entities that will carry out the funded federal award activities; however, one eligible entity must be the applicant and the other(s) must be proposed as subrecipient(s).
The applicant must be the entity with primary responsibility for administering the funding and managing the entire project.
Nonprofit organizations that hold money in offshore accounts for the purpose of avoiding paying the tax described in 26 U.S.C.
511(a) are not eligible to apply.
