Captive Rearing of Mountain Yellow-legged Frogs for Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks

This collaborative project between the SF Zoo and NPS staff at SEKI is designed to mitigate the effects of Bd on the persistence of high-priority MYLF populations in SEKI by conducting antifungal treatments on infected late-stage tadpoles, rearing them to adult frog size and immunizing them before reintroducing

them to the wild.

The goal is to produce a sufficient number of immunized juvenile MYLFs to help stabilize dwindling populations or re-establish extirpated populations in at least two SEKI watersheds.
