Springfield College Gets State Grant to train Local Public Schools Teachers in Math, Special Ed

Springfield College was handed an $867,000 grant to support a strategic collaboration with Springfield Public Schools to increase the number of teachers trained to teach mathematics and special education in high-need Level 3 and 4 SPS schools.


The grant comes from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The S3 (“S-Cubed”) program aims to boost the pool of trained teachers in the hard-to-staff subject and specialty areas of mathematics and moderate disabilities (special education).
