Upshur County DA Pursues Grant for Gammage Capital Murder Trial

Upshur County District Attorney Billy Byrd fishes for the county’s approval to apply for a state grant to help fund the prosecution of three capital murder suspects in the Gammage case.


The trial covers Ronnie Joe Gammage, a mentally disabled Longview man whose beaten and burned body was found Dec. 19 in rural Upshur County.
