Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians (LTBB) is a Sponsoring Entity restored as a federally recognized Tribe in 1994. LTBB will create a Naive CDFI that will provide small business loans and financial literacy, business, and other developmental services to tribal members in the Northwest area of Michigan"s lower peninsula. LTBB will use its 2007 NACA Technical Assistance award to (1) provide in-house personnel, (2) train staff in CDFI development and portfolio management, and (3) purchase materials, supplies and software.



NACA (2005) - $109,000

The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians of Harbor Springs, Michigan received a technical assistance award through the 2005 Native American CDFI Assistance (NACA) Program of $109,000 to assist the Tribe to establish a community development financial institution to provide financing and technical assistance to entrepreneurs and small businesses in the community. The award will be used to: (1) purchase consulting services to develop strategic and capitalization plans and conduct a market analysis; (2) acquire computer hardware and peripherals; (3) obtain training for board members and new staff members regarding the development and operation of a Native CDFI; and (4) support operations.
