NA (2008) - $65,202
Sovereign Leasing & Finance (SLF) is a certified Native CDFI since 2003. SLF provides financial products and services in a culturally appropriate manner to the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes" departments, enterprise businesses and Tribal Member owned businesses located on the Flathead Reservation in Western Montana. SLF will use this TA grant to 1) pay for staff salary, 2) pay for staff trainings, and 3) provide travel to trainings. The CDFI was awarded $65,202.
NACA (2007) - $149,760
Sovereign Leasing & Finance (SLF) is a certified Native CDFI established in 1992. SLF"s Target Market consists of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes" businesses and tribal members residing on the Flathead Reservation of Western Montana. The 2007 TA grant will assist SLF with hiring and training new staff.
FA (2005) - $300,000
Sovereign will use its financial assistance award of $300,000 to inject equity into its capital structure to leverage debt for its lending activities as well as to provide technical assistance.
NATA (2004) - $72,000
Sovereign Leasing & Financing, Inc. (SLF) will use the award to strengthen its current management and operational systems in order to improve its service to the community. The award will be used to: hire a consultant to assist SLF with developing policies and procedures, a uniform business training program, and a marketing plan; to purchase hardware and software; and to send two staff to in-depth underwriting training.
NACTA (2002) - $54,400
The Fund"s $54,400 technical assistance grant will enable SLF, Inc. to contract legal and other consulting services, purchase loan management software, and train its staff and board in business loan underwriting and financial management issues. As a result of the Fund"s award, SLF, Inc., is expected to become certified as a CDFI by September 2004.
