NACA (2009) - $131,451

Four Bands Community Fund (Four Bands) is a certified Native CDFI established in 2000. Four Bands provides microloans, small business loans, an Individual Development Account program, and a range of education and development services. It promotes locally owned private business expansion and financial literacy on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Four Bands will use its FY 2009 Technical Assistance award for consultant support; staff salaries and training; and computer technology updates that will result in expanded markets for private businesses, an updated credit builder program, and updated financial and risk management policies.



NA (2008) - $502,335

Four Band Community Fund is a certified Native CDFI established in 2000. Four Bands provides microloans, small business loans, IDA accounts, and developmental services to residents of the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation in central South Dakota. Four Bands will use the 2008 NACA FA award as lending capital. It will use the TA grant to: 1) obtain consulting services to improve internal capacity; and 2) pay for staff and financial management training; and 3) cover travel expenses for training and professional services. The CDFI was awarded $502,335 ($400,000 Financial Assistance - $102,335 Technical Assistance).



NACA (2006) - $618,000

Four Bands Community Fund is a certified CDFI established in 2000. Four Bands provides small business training and lending, entrepreneurship education, and financial literacy to residents of the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation. Four Bands will use the NACA FA grant of $500,000 to increase its lending capital and a TA grant of $118,000 to: 1) obtain consulting services to produce a communications plan, improve services from financial organizations, coordinate an entrepreneurship fair, and conduct a training and retreat for board members and staff; 2) pay for AEO training for board members and staff; 3) purchase technology products to improve technology; and 4) pay for a portion of staff salary, materials and supplies, and communication costs.



NATA (2004) - $78,000

Four Bands Community Fund is receiving a Native American Technical Assistance (NATA) Program grant in the amount of $78,000 for the purposes of developing a market analysis, a marketing plan, and to update the current business plan and loan policies and procedures. It will also use the grant to improve its loan policies and procedures, and loan tracking software; to purchase a computer; and to provide training for staff and board members.

NACA (2004) - $440,000

Four Bands Community Fund will use $300,000 of its $440,000 award under the Native American CDFI Assistance Program for loan capital to support its business lending. The remaining $140,000 is a technical assistance grant that will build the Awardee?s capacity to serve its market by supporting its operations, purchasing computer technology, sending staff and board members to training, and obtaining consulting services.



SECA (2001) - $150,500

Four Bands will utilize its award to expand it"s loan capital. Additionally, TA will build staff and institutional capacity. The Fund"s award gives the applicant leverage potential and the increase its ability to pool resources from other sources.
