Mercy Enterprise Corporation is dedicated to providing loans to low-income persons, minorities, refugees and immigrants to capitalize micro-enterprise businesses, while assisting people to build secure productive and just communities. Since September of 2000, Mercy Enterprise Corporation has supported over 1000 businesses in the Greater Portland Oregon Metro Area and facilitated 90 new micro-enterprise businesses through the provision of 42 loans and development services to over 650 people.

TA (2004) - $50,000

Mercy Enterprise Corporation will use the award to assist them with identifying very low-income persons through a marketing analysis that will provide management with tools in new business training for a diverse population. Funds will also result in a capitalization plan and feasibility study to determine the most efficient methods of delivering products. Updated technology will allow staff to work in the field and assist burgeoning entrepreneurs in realizing their dream of self-employment.



SECA (2002) - $185,000

The financial assistance and technical assistance will be used by the Awardee to support its efforts to capitalize its microloan fund and to strengthen its operational capacity.
