CDFI Awards for ACCION Texas, Inc.


FA (2008) - $1,000,000

Accion Texas, Inc is a certified CDFI established in 1994 ACCION Texas provides microenterprise loans ranging from $500 to $50,000 to low- and moderate-income individuals across the state of Texas Accion Texas will use its FY08 Financial Assistance award of $1,000,000 as financing capital and loan loss reserves for its financing products.



TA (2006) - $82,000

ACCION Texas, Inc. is a certified CDFI established in 1994. ACCION Texas offers financial products and services to predominantly Latino small and emerging business owners in nine markets in Texas. The awardee will use its 2006 TA grant of $82,000 to 1) obtain consulting services to complete technology enhancements to provide customer access to apply for loans online; 2) to purchase software and hardware to complete the transition to an internet based loan application system; and 3) to pay for system training for staff and partners.



TA (2004) - $50,000

ACCION Texas will use the award to purchase portfolio management software.

FA (2004) - $1,340,000

ACCION Texas, Inc. will use the award to expand into two new cities, Corpus Christi and Laredo. This award will help expand the Awardees reach from six to eight branch offices. Expected results during the performance period include the creation/retention of more than 2,300 jobs.



CORE (2000) - $1,500,000

The CDFI Fund"s $1,500,000 award ($500,000 capital grant and $1,000,000 loan) will help the ACCION Texas carry out its comprehensive business plan that calls for increasing the volume of its microenterprise lending to meet loan demand and increasing operational self-sufficiency.



CORE (1998) - $1,200,000

The Awardee plans to create and retain jobs by providing micro-entrepreneurs with access to credit and business support services not available from the commercial banking sector.



CORE (1997) - $330,000

This CDFI provides business loans of $250 - $25,000 to disenfranchised, low-income, and minority entrepreneurs in the El Paso County who do not have access to business credit from the formal banking sector. A $200,000 loan matched by a line of credit from the El Paso Association of Banks and a grant of $130,000 from the CDFl Fund will provide capital needed to expand ACCION El Paso"s lending abilities and to serve more emerging microenterprises.



CORE (1996) - $500,000

A $500,000 grant from the CDFI Fund will provide major boost to this new entity by providing a sound capital base and increasing the scale of its activities.
