The Administration for Children and Families, which operates under the Department of Health and Human Services is providing grant funds of $3,200,000 for projects seeking to transform services to improve mental and behavioral health services and further develop trauma-informed child welfare systems.
The grant is open to a variety of state, local and tribal governments as well as educational institutions.
If the primary applicant responsible for administering the cooperative agreement is not a public child welfare agency, the applicant must document a strong partnership with the public child welfare agency(ies) with responsibility for administering the child welfare program(s) in the targeted geographical area(s) and courts having jurisdiction over the targeted child welfare population.

The National Energy Technology Laboratory within the Department of Energy is providing $12 million in funding research with the near-term objective of reducing electric vehicles charging infrastructure cost.
Specifically the funding, for which eligibility is unrestricted, is focused on the development of electric vehicle supply equipment that is capable of implementing smart charging of electric vehicles, referred to as smart grid-capable EVSE. A goal of the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability Smart Grid R&D Program is to develop and implement smart grid to support transportation electrification.
This program is part of the, Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, Research, Development and Analysis, which through research, development, demonstration, technology transfer, and education and outreach activities seeks to modernize and expand America’s electric delivery system to ensure a more reliable and robust electricity supply, and enhance economic and national security.

Smart Grid Capable Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment

The Office of Justice Programs, working within the Department of Justice is providing funding to support an organization and/or a consortium of organizations to provide technical assistance to Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention grantees and other organizations addressing commercial sexual exploitation or domestic minor sex trafficking of girls and boys.
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention will enter into a cooperative agreement with the successful applicant and will make an initial award of as much as $450,000 with a program and budget period of 12 months. This amount is for the entire award period.
Subject to performance, need, and the availability of funds, OJJDP may provide supplemental and continuation funding for as many as two additional 1-year increments.

The U.S. Agency for International Development Mission in Port Au Prince, Haiti is soliciting applications to design and implement a Parliamentary Strengthening Program. The Agency seeks submissions from qualified organizations for a 5-year award that will not exceed $15 million.

The National Parks Service has announced an award of $26,913 under the Rocky Mountain Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit for Year 3 of the Multi-Regional Vulnerability Assessment of a Climate Sensitive Sentinel Species Study.
The Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units National Network is a network of cooperative units established to provide research, technical assistance, and education to resource and environmental managers.
These units are named to signify their broad role as providers of research, technical assistance, and education to federal land management, environmental, and research agencies and their potential partners.

The Agricultural Marketing Service, an arm of the Department of Agriculture, has announced $10 million in competitive grants that will be awarded by the Farmers Market Promotion Program.
The Farmers Market Promotion Program is designed to promote the domestic consumption of agricultural products by expanding direct producer-to-consumer marketing opportunities.

The Department of Health and Human Services has announced $26 million in funding for the Autism Centers of Excellence Networks Program.
The ACE Networks will focus on supporting the broad research goals of the Interagency Coordinating Committee Strategic Plan for Autism Spectrum Disorder Research. he Plan provides a blueprint for autism research that is advisory to the Department of Health and Human Services and serves as a basis for partnerships with other agencies and private organizations involved in autism research and services.
The institutes participating in the application process include: The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, the National Institute of Mental Health, and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

New Grants for the Autism Centers of Excellence: Networks

The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, within the Department of Health and Human Services is awarding $2,350,000 for the establishment of three Poverty Research Centers.
The Poverty Research Center grants are for qualified institutions, which include Public, State and Private institutions of Higher Education, to provide a focused national and regional and/or state agenda to expand the understanding of the causes, consequences and effects of inequality and poverty and policies and programs to ameliorate and alleviate poverty, inequality and their affects.
It is anticipated that investigators supported under the Poverty Research Center will benefit from the opportunity to conduct independent research, as well as that the grantee institution will benefit from participation in the diverse extramural programs of Department of Health and Human Services and other federal agencies.

The National Park Service, an office of the U.S. Department of the Interior has announced an award of $140,442 for the Geoscientists in the Park program.
The program is designed to place geoscientists in units of the National Park Service to complete short-term geoscience projects.
The award is being made to the Geological Society of America on a non-competitive basis.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, under the Department of the Interior announced that it awarded an $80,000 grant to Kansas State University to annually estimate black-tailed prairie dog population numbers, densities, and colony areas using accepted and previously used methods.
This non-competitive award was made to the University because of its specialized qualifications, specifically location and technical expertise.
