Urbana Firefighters Receive State Grant to Buy New Gear

The Urbana Fire Department receives a $24,700 state grant to purchase new pairs of fire coats and pants. A pair of coat and pants will cost $1,900 each.


The grant will also allow the department to replace and acquire new set of reserve gears for its more than 50 personnel. The new gear will be safer, says Division Chief Brian Nightlinger.
