The Northwoods Niiji Enterprise Community Inc., a nonprofit corporation created in 1999 to activate residents and create resoureces to improve its rural district encompassing three Tribes and eight municipalities in Northern Wisconsin, received a technical assistance (Native American CDFI Development) grant in the amount of $88,530 towards creating a new CDFI to provide loans and technical assistance to new and growing small businesses. The funds will be used to obtain legal, financial, and consulting services, prepare loan procedures and policies, and purchase computers and loan servicing and accounting software for the new CDFI.
