CDFI Awards for FBA Bancorp, Inc.

CORE (2001) - $700,000

FBA will use the CDFI Fund"s $100,000 grant and $600,000 equity to expand financial service provision and education in other distressed communities in Chicago, most notably working in partnership with Fannie Mae Foundation, Chicago Department of Housing and housing non-profits to combat predatory lending practices in Chicago"s Gage Park and Chicago Lawn neighborhoods.

CORE (1998) - $1,100,000

The equity investment will be used to allow FBA to purchase two existing branches from an established lender in the area who intends to close them. Thus, FBA will ensure that low-income residents of the target neighborhoods have access to basic financial services.
