Urban Act State Grant to Demolish Preston Riverwalk Property

A total of $5 million Urban Act grant will enable the Preston Redevelopment Agency to demolish one of the largest and most expensive buildings.


The state grant was awarded in part of an effort to clean up the remaining former Norwich Hospital buildings. According to First Selectman Robert Congdon, the funding will "go a long way toward getting this property shovel-ready for development."
