Volunteer Writes letter, Says DMHAS Cuts Funding to Community Mental Health Services

In a letter addressed to the Post-Chronicle, a news source that covers Hamden, North Haven and Wallingford, volunteer board member Richard G. Bell of BHcare writes that the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) budget slashes off state grant funding to community mental health agencies.


Bell declares that the budget cuts would hurt patients who need these kinds of community-based clinical services the most. He writes that time and study should be looked into instead of having Medicaid reforms that only tackle half the medical costs.
