The organization is seeking to expand both the geographic range in which it lends and the loan products that it offers.

FA (2009) - $600,000

Springfield Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. Springfield Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 1978 with a mission to transform families and revitalize distressed neighborhoods through homeownership, rehabilitation and development of blighted properties and resident empowerment. Springfield Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. provides first-time homebuyer loans and foreclosure prevention. It will use its FY 2009 Financial Assistance award to create a “Rescue Fund” to help prevent foreclosures, rehabilitate and purchase homes and refinance second mortgages.



SECA (2002) - $190,000

The Fund"s technical assistance award will be used to obtain consulting services, purchase technology, and train staff to enable NHS to serve an expanded Investment Area, increase its lending activity, and development services and to develop a new first mortgage product.



SECA (2000) - $40,000

The CDFI Fund"s technical assistance award will pay for the revision of the NHS"s loan policies and procedures, the development of a capitalization and fundraising strategy, strategic planning, staff training, and improved technology.
