Founded in 2000, ACCION USA has a niche market originating business loans ranging in size from $500 to $50,000 to minority and women microentrepreneurs. Community partners are comprised of major banks in each of the markets it serves: New England, Atlanta, and Miami. ACCION USA is attempting to take microenterprise lending to a national scale through innovative strategies like a national call center and internet microlending.

CDFI Awards for ACCION USA


FA (2008) - $1,000,000

ACCION USA (AUSA) is a certified CDFI established in 2000 The CDFI provides microloans and financial education to Other Targeted Populations (African American and Latinos) through its offices in Massachusetts, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Puerto Rico and nationwide via the Internet It will use the 2008 Financial Assistance award of $1,000,000 to increase lending capital and help under-banked families build wealth.



TA (2004) - $50,000

Accion USA will use the award to hire consultants to redesign its website and translate materials into Spanish and will be responsive to existing customers and help expand its products to an established market of microentrepreneurs.

FA (2004) - $584,850

ACCION USA organization will use the award in support of its lending activities.



CORE (2001) - $1,750,000

A $750,000 capital grant will fund information technology, a loan loss reserve, strengthen the New York loan processing center, and establish a call center. Additionally, a $1,000,000 CDFI Fund loan will help ACCION USA reach its ambitious capital goals and make significant breakthroughs in micro lending in the United States.
