White Earth Investment Initiative (WEII) is a certified CDFI established in 2002. WEII is located in northern Minnesota and provides business loans, assistance purchasing quality vehicles, and courses on financial literacy, building credit, homeownership, and business technical assistance.

NACA (2009) - $590,000

White Earth Investment Initiative (WEII) is a certified Native CDFI in operation since 2002. WEII serves the White Earth Indian Reservation located in Northwest Minnesota. WEII provides business and real estate loans as well development services to residents of the Reservation. WEII plans to create new loan products and expand into other Minnesota Reservations. WEII is requesting $590,000 in Financial Assistance and $2,615 in Technical Assistance.



NACA (2007) - $269,500

White Earth Investment Initiative (WEII) is a certified CDFI established in 2002. WEII is located in northern Minnesota and provides business loans, assistance purchasing quality vehicles, and courses on financial literacy, building credit, homeownership, and business technical assistance. WEII will use the 2007 NACA Financial Assistance grant award to fund a small business loan fund and a loan loss reserve.



NACA (2006) - $117,300

The White Earth Investment Initiative (WEII) in Ogema, MN was established in 2002 as a subsidiary of Midwest Minnesota Community Development Corporation, a certified CDFI in Detroit Lakes, MN. The mission of WEII is to engage in community, economic, and housing development on the White Earth Reservation. To that end, WEII provides a number of services designed to create wealth and homeownership on the White Earth reservation. WEII provides financial literacy training, homeownership training to potential homebuyers, runs a business support center that offers loan capital, technical assistance, and training to small business owners and entrepreneurs, provides free tax preparation assistance, and partners with MMCDC and others in the community to provide quality used cars at affordable prices. WEII will use a $117,300 NACA TA grant to purchase consulting services to assist staff in developing an IDA program, to purchase computer hardware and software, and to support operations. Specifically, the operating support will assist WEII to provide free or low-cost access to attorneys and accountants for business borrowers, to provide business development training to local artisans, and to hire new staff.



NACA (2004) - $156,500

White Earth Investment Initiative of Ogema, MN is subsidiary of Midwest Minnesota Community Development Corporation, a certified community development financial institution (CDFI). White Earth’s mission is to serve Native American entrepreneurs and business owners on the White Earth reservation. The awardee will use the $156,500 technical assistance award through the Native American CDFI Assistance Program to help build its capacity through training, the purchase of technology, and consulting services to establish a CDFI that will primarily serve the White Earth Reservation.
