The California Indian Manpower Consortium (CIMC) of Sacramento, CA, was established in 1978 to provide employment, training and supportive services to American Indian communities in 37 of Californiaa€™s 58 counties. CIMC is the sponsoring entity for an emerging Native CDFI that will eventually be called the California Entrepreneurs Opportunity Fund. The proposed Native CDFI will offer financial education and financial literacy development services in conjunction with its existing entrepreneur training. Additionally, the proposed Native CDFI aims to provide small loans to Native entrepreneurs and homeowners throughout California.

NACA (2005) - $80,000

CIMC will use the 2005 Native American CDFI Assistance (NACA) technical assistance grant of $80,000 to (1) hire a consultant to conduct a market analysis; (2) purchase a computer workstation and financial management software; (3) cover the costs for members of the Awardee"s staff / board to attend training on CDFI management and operations; and (4) support its operating costs.
